Biofilters

Biofilters

Biofiltration is a technology by which the gaseous emissions to be treated are conveyed through a biologically active porous medium.

This is nothing more than a sort of bed made up of materials such as bark, shredded wood, mature compost, and peat kept at constant temperature and humidity conditions and colonized by aerobic microorganisms capable of degrading the compounds to be treated present in the airstream.

It is important to emphasize that colonization and metabolic activities occur within the biofilm which, in this case, is the water film that is created around the particles of the solid part of which the biofilter is made.

Before leaving the filter bed, the airstream is enriched with carbon dioxide, of the others volatile organic compounds produced and the heat generated by biochemical reactions.

Oil mist coalescence filter – MCOS

Oil mist coalescence filter MCOS

Oil mist coalescence filter
MCOS

MCOS is a filtration system designed to separate oil and smoke particles from the air in particularly heavy duty work conditions, using the principle of coalescence. Applications for this type of filtration are heavy duty mechanical processing.

The air flow passes through the multilayer fibreglass filter element at low speed, where the coalescence process takes place. By crossing the increasingly thick layers of filtering material, the microparticles of the pollutants are agglomerated, reaching macroscopic dimensions.

What is the coalescence principle? Coalescence is the physical phenomenon through which liquid droplets, gas bubbles or solid particles come together to form larger entities.

Unlike traditional static filters, the coalescence filter does not work exclusively based on clogging, as the particles reach a weight that causes them to fall by gravity into the collecting tank, significantly increasing the useful life of the filter. Once the filter element has been crossed, the air flow goes back to the next element at a low enough speed to avoid dragging the finest particles. To ensure a higher level of purification it is possible to install an additional absolute filtration stage (FFA),with an efficiency rating of 99.99%.

The collected oil particles are expelled through a drain pipe positioned on the back of the filter.

Centrifugal filter for oil mist extraction – CLEANMIST PRO™

Centrifugal filter for oil mist extraction CLEANMIST PRO™

The new CLEANMIST PRO range includes a series of centrifugal filters for oil mist. Designed, engineered, and patented, the new CLEANMIST PRO range offers high performance, superior efficiency, and ease of maintenance.

Polluted air is drawn in through the inlet via the centrifugal motion of a bladed impeller equipped with controlled-density bulpren panels. As the air passes through these panels, the particles undergo a coalescence effect, turning into droplets that are then drained outside through a dedicated discharge pipe.

A subsequent filtration stage, utilizing the physical principle of coalescence combined with an FFA fiberglass filtering medium, ensures an efficiency of 99.99%, a figure supported by tests conducted at production sites by accredited laboratories.

Hydrodynamic FilterIDRODUST COMPACT

Hydrodynamic Filter IDRODUST COMPACT

Hydrodynamic Filter
IDRODUST COMPACT™

Hydrodynamic filter for dust, vapor, and gas suppression that utilizes the effect of micro-mixing of air to be treated with water.

Equipped with an innovative design, the machine uses spray nozzles in the pre-chamber to filter out macroparticles and collect them at the bottom of the tank. Subsequently, in the Venturi throat, a centrifugation process occurs through the use of a second set of nozzles, enabling the microfiltration of residual polluted particles. This increases filtration efficiency while reducing the complexity of the initial setup.

Before being expelled the clean air passes through a droplet separator, where remaining water particles in the airflow are deposited. The cleaning of the droplet separator is simplified by the presence of a third set of nozzles, allowing thorough cleaning without the need to remove it from the main body.
